Brand Tasmania: New editor for Island’s fiction

Posted by Kate Harrison

Geordie Williamson, the chief literary critic of The Australian and winner of the 2011 Pascall prize for critical writing, has been appointed Fiction Editor of Island magazine. He said: “I have been either reading, writing about, or writing for, Island for years now.

My respect for, and sense of engagement with the journal has only deepened over time – particularly with the arrival of the indefatigable and manifestly intelligent Matthew Lamb as Editor in 2012.” Mr Williamson assumed his role for issue 136 of the widely read Tasmanian quarterly.
