Join Danielle Wood in a special panel showcasing the achievements of the recently named winners of the Tasmania Literary Awards and the vibrancy of Tasmanian literature.

'There is another world, and it is this one’– Paul Eluard.
Join Island’spoetry editor, Kate Middleton, in conversation with Sarah Holland-Batt, Esther Ottaway, Graeme Miles and the recipient of this year’s Tim Thorne Prize for Poetry as they engage place in conversation with the imagination.

Poetry Masterclass with Sarah Holland-Batt - SOLD OUT
We are delighted to present an interactive poetry masterclass with Stella Prize-winning poet Sarah Holland-Batt.
Participants will be asked to submit two works-in-progress in advance, and during the workshop you will discuss and refine your poems with a group of your fellow poets, under the expert guidance of Sarah.

Sarah is an award-winning poet, editor and critic. Her books have received a number of Australia’s leading literary awards, including the Stella Prize for her most recent book, The Jaguar, and the Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Poetry for her second volume, The Hazards. She is also the author of a book of essays on contemporary Australian poetry, Fishing for Lightning, collecting her poetry columns written for The Australian. She is presently Professor of Creative Writing at QUT.
