Join the Island Board

We are currently seeking additional volunteer Board members to support the governance and long-term sustainability of Island Magazine.

We are particularly interested in people with skills and experience in:

  • Not-for-profit governance

  • Finance

  • Law

  • Human resources

  • Fundraising, marketing and communications

  • Arts and literary sector experience and networks

We welcome expressions of interest from people of all backgrounds, including First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and people of all genders.

As a Board member, you will:

  • Attend bi-monthly meetings (in Hobart or online, typically in the evening for approximately 1.5 hours)

  • Contribute to annual strategic planning

  • Attend and represent Island at key events, including magazine launches

  • Be prepared to contribute additional time and expertise as required, including through participation in Board subcommittees
