ISLAND | ONLINE ONLY

Jake and Sarah are crying

their chickens

are dying of heatstroke

but I don’t care about that

I know the difference between

summer and a hot day,

between running to

and running from

we all have our seasons –

you’re changing

into that new swimsuit and

I know how the ocean touches,

it touches every part of the body,

touches all the sharks

and all the rays

and all the crayfish
