Introducing Island's new Nonfiction Editor

We are delighted to announce that Keely Jobe has joined the Island team as our new Nonfiction Editor.

Keely is a writer of fiction and non-fiction living on the east coast of lutruwita/Tasmania. Her work has been published in Island, The Monthly, Australian Geographic, Cosmos and Signals Magazine. Enjoy one of her recent essays published on Island Online https://bit.ly/47C7M9T

She tutors and lectures in Literary Studies, Gender Studies, Creative Writing and Critical Theory at the University of Tasmania where she is also a PhD candidate in Creative Writing.

"As a queer woman of Anglo-Indian heritage, I have often turned to the Australian literary scene and the diversity of voices found there to seek out points of recognition, identification and difference," said Keely. "As Nonfiction Editor, I look forward to continuing this search and ensuring a diversity of representation."
